We flew from Sabi Sands i a small single engine plane acroos South Africa heading for Zambia

Wider and higher than Niagara but a lot more spread across a single line unlike Niagara

All the way we saw rural towns and farmland we came to the conclusion that both South Africa and Zimbabwe were naturally rich places if well managed

This gentleman was the tribal elder and medicine man . He was quite an extraordinary character , He held no passport but still travelled to the neighbour countries based on these being his traditional areas of travel. He was not worried about inflation as his wealth was based on cows and chickens and crops, which he explained no matter what happened to the paper money were always worth the same and produced the same return. The building behind is a typical round hut that would sleep up to 8 people at any given time

The Hotel went back to colonial times and still had that feel and grandeur . However reverting also dated back to the same time including our super thin towels

This fall was was awe inspiring

Mist , mist and more mist a sign of the huge volume of water that goes over these falls

Even when we were walking to the fails we were getting progressively wetter

Even at the top the impact of the water on the edge of the canyon is amazing

Mad people swim in pools above the falls

WE saw people gathering and swimming in pols by the lip of the falls , locals told us some had been swept over to their death

Sign at the Border

Welcome indeed! We had to pay each $100 US to get a visa in Zambia , then $20 Us to get our luggage back off some friendly !! people who had walked it out of the small customs area , Then a further $ 10 dollars each to get across the border into Zimbabwe, and another $ 10 so the guide we had met could bribe his way back across the bridge .

Old a bit tired but still functions

We were amazed how this place, despite the county's poor performance, still functioned remarkably well

We did not realise that we would land in Zambia , travelling back from there to Victoria was an experience in itself
